Living trend: light pastel colours

This colour trend has many nuances: whether mint green, light blue, blush pink, vanilla or soft lilac – pastel shades bring the sense of lightness into the home. As decorative accessories in the living room or as functional kitchen helpers, pastel-coloured products radiate optimism and joie de vivre everywhere. The delicate, airy colours can also be used in shops to create inspiring and therefore high-turnover living spaces.

Tabletop & trends

People enjoy sitting at a table set in soft colours for a while longer. No wonder, because according to colour psychology, pastel colours have a calming and relaxing effect. In combination with white or grey tones, pastel shades look confident and elegant. On top of that, they bring trendy retro flair to the table. Monochrome in a uniform tone-on-tone look or lively combinations – the light colours make new table arrangements possible again and again.

Creative design

When painting, crafting and decorating, the variety of shapes and colours knows no bounds. The pastel colour palette plays a major role in creative design and can be used in many different ways. Incidentally, the term “pastel” comes from painting and refers to a technique in which pigment chalk is used to paint on mostly rough paper. Artists were already using pastel chalks for their sketches in the 15th century.

Cooking & enjoying

Soft pastel colours are also becoming increasingly popular in the kitchen. As a warm contrast to cool stainless steel and the clear design of kitchen furniture, statement pieces in your favourite colour – such as chef’s knives, roasters or casseroles in rosé & co. – are eye-catchers in any setting. In a cosy country house style, the soft shades blend harmoniously into the furnishings.
